To celebrate the cover reveal of the third and final book of The Purgatorium Series, Eva Pohler is hosting a fabulous Facebook event and rafflecopter giveaway.
In the first book, The Purgatorium, seventeen-year-old Daphne Janus has no idea that her parents have sent her to an experimental psychologist on an island off the coast of California as a last-ditch effort to save her from herself. People go to the island wanting to die, and they leave fighting to live. This book is FREE!
In the second book, Gray's Domain, Daphne is delighted to learn she will now have a chance to have revenge on her parents and boyfriend by participating in their therapy, but when real bullets fly and lives are at stake, she decides she wants no part of it and hatches a plan to save her family against what she sees as a tyrannical doctor.
In the final book, The Calibans, Daphne returns to the island to save her best friend, Cam, and the other "Calibans" who've been brainwashed by Dr. Gray, but, once again, things aren't what they seem. Daphne's entire world comes crashing down along with the Purgatorium when federal ATF officers arrive with a warrant during a dangerous exercise. What she believed to be so isn't, and the blurry line between art and reality leaves her reeling.
Without further ado, another masterpiece from Book Cover Corner...
To help us celebrate, enter the Rafflecopter giveaway below for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. Also join the Facebook party on February 1st at 7 p.m. CST for a chance to win signed paperbacks, t-shirts, audiobooks, ebooks, the Athena locket, and other fun prizes! You can join here.

See How She Awakens: The Chronicles of Izzy 4
By Michelle Graves
Summary:
The Seer has fallen, yet the prophecy remains.
The World will burn, unless the Seer is Awakened.
Izzy is lost to the void, doing everything within her power to forget the past two years of her life, when a voice calls out to her from the fog. Aberto begs for her to return while Kennan's voice implores her to remember. Everything within her is telling her to stay in the void, but then Aberto tells her the one thing powerful enough to pull her from oblivion, Molly is dying.
What awaits Izzy on the mortal plane is more terrifying than she could've imagined. The darkness is on the rise and no one seems to see it, or they don't want to admit to the truth. With the darkness more powerful than ever, Izzy must find a way to push the past behind her and protect her loved ones, even if it means losing herself forever.
Will Izzy fall to the darkness or will she finally discover who she was always destined to be? Find out what happens when the Seer finally Awakens.
This is the final book in The Chronicles of Izzy. The story starts off with Izzy still wandering in the void. In her eyes, it's a haven for her, where she can still have an attachment with Kennan. What Izzy doesn't know is that she didn't end the darkness when she fell, as she had thought. To top it off, the void is taking an awful toll on her. As her friends try to reach out to her and bring her back, she finds herself sinking further in. To make matters worse, her best friend Molly is also paying a hefty price while trying to reach her. Izzy needs to find her way back and figure out a way to end this madness once and for all. Will the change that has occurred in Izzy be too much to overcome to accomplish her task? Can her friends get through to her to and make her see that she's not alone in all of this? Will she be strong enough to finish and make it through unscathed?
There have been a lot of twists and turns in this series to lead us to the final instillation. I can honestly say that I am very sad to see it end. This book built up the anticipation for sure. There were a few twists that I didn't see coming. I like the depth of the characters, especially Aberto. His faith and dedication to Izzy are unyielding. I think we all want someone that is invested in us as he is with Izzy. I appreciate the character growth we see in Izzy. There were few things that I didn't absolutely love. The first part of the book is a bit slow and repetitive. I like the fact that there was an epilogue, but with it happening so far in the future, I would've like to see a little more of what happened with the characters and progression of their relationships. It didn't really detract from the story though. I was certainly emotionally attached to the characters, and there were tears shed. All in all, it was a great book that I read it in one sitting. I will definitely be on the look out for anything else that I can get my hands on from this author.

Review of Alessandra by Lizzy Ford
**** Review Time ****
Alessandra (#1, Omega Beginnings Miniseries)
By Lizzy Ford
This is the first in a miniseries of short books that will lead up to the release for the full length novels in Lizzy Ford's Omega series. It's a short, sinful teaser to get you ramped up for the release of the Omega series, which will be full length novels.
Alessandra has a gift. She can see a ribbon of colors aro...und everyone and everything. She can also manipulate the ribbons that she sees to make objects come to life. Well, this information has fallen into the wrong hands, and the men in the black vans are coming for her.
This short read will keep you on the edge of your seat in anticipation, craving for more. It's packed with a lot of action. I just LOVE little Alessandra! I think she may be the cutest child I have ever read about. I can NOT wait for the next short story in this miniseries!

Scorch (Hailey Holloway, 3)
By K.C. Stewart
After finding out that Dak has been keeping secrets and lying to her about something very important, Hailey decides to sneak and see what he's up to. After finding him where he shouldn't be, she hightails it to Silas' without giving him a chance to explain. And you know that Katherine is totally using their spat to her advantage at trying to win Dak back. All of this comes on the cusp of a war between the dragon clans. If they want to win this, they need to show a united front. How can they do that if they can't even be around each other without wanting to rip into the other? When dragons start dying, it's time to step up to the plate. Too much is at stake, but can they get along well enough to end the war and unite the dragons? Will they be able to repair their relationship, or will their stubborn pride end things once and for all? You're going to have to read it to find out!
I just LOVE this whole series. Scorch certainly lived up to it's expectations. There's a strong storyline full of twists and turns, and with plenty of action to keep your attention. So much emotion was poured into the pages. I laughed and also wept with the characters. There were certainly some times that I wanted to reach into the book and knock some sense into the characters' stubborn heads. I think Dak may be one of the most hard headed men I've ever encountered, real or fictional. There were also some tender moments that touched my heart. I love seeing a softer side to Silas. My heart just aches for Darby. Oh the feels!!! I just couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in this fabulous series!

Face the Music: A Dauntless Indies Anthology
By Brandy L. Rivers, Felicia Tatum, Sarah M. Cradit, Michelle Graves, Michele Breaux-Rowley
Face the Music is a collection of stories that center around a music and arts festival in Seattle, called Bumbershoot, that features local up and coming talent. Interestingly, Bumbershoot is a real event that you can attend in the Emerald C...ity. This anthology has a little bit for everyone from humor, paranormal, to romance. Some of the stories might be a bit hard to follow if you haven't read previous work from some of the authors.
Unbound Adventures - A White Aura Short by Felicia Tatum: I did like this story about hybrid vampires, though there were a few discrepancies in the storyline. It's not one that I had to have read previous books by the author to understand.
Red Queen, an Others of Seattle short by Brandy L. Rivers: I really enjoyed this paranormal with a steamy kick. I appreciate that the whole story was fleshed out. While I have read and enjoyed a few other books by this author, it wasn't necessary in understanding this story.
Trouble with Partners, the Misadventures of Maggie Moore 2 by Michelle Graves: This one was my favorite in the anthology. Poor Maggie is just an accident waiting to happen. I see a bit of myself in the main character. This one was another full story that doesn't need other books read to let you know what's going on in the series. It's light and funny. I have read several other books by this author and I have enjoyed them all.
Dark Blessing: A Crimson and Clover Lagniappe by Sarah Cradit: I didn't enjoy this one quite as well as I did the others. It wasn't a full story, and it was a bit confusing at times. This is one where you will need to read more from the author to fully get a handle on what's going on. It does have a cliffhanger ending, so you will need to read more to find out what happens with the characters.
A Case of Possession, An Aiden and Idonie Adventure, by Michele Breaux-Rowley: This paranormal short gives you just enough to pique your interest. It does give some closure, but you will need to read more to find out what else happens with the characters. I liked this one as well.
Overall, I did enjoy this anthology, and I will be seeking out more work from several of these authors.

The Ship has Sunk (The Misadventures of Maggie Moore-1)
By Michelle Graves
Maggie Moore is an accident waiting to happen. After suffering a devastating loss, she moves back home, giving... up a great position writing about what she truly loves. After a period of time, her mother decided that Maggie needs to find a job and move out. She applies for a job at a local paper writing about sports. When the boss figures out that she's been fibbing about her sports knowledge, he decides to give her another chance, writing about sports that very few have ever heard of. She decides to throw her whole heart into the project and save her job.
But it wouldn't be Maggie if there weren't some disasters along the way. There are flat tires, fat lips, and a knight in not so shiny armor. Seriously, why can't the handsome man just drop the attitude. It isn't like she asked for his help anyways. She's just going to keep her head down and write the best story of her life. Now if she could just stop bumping into the gorgeous grump.
This was a short, light read that kept me laughing the whole time. I did shed a tear for Maggie and her loss. This short story has a lot of emotion packed into it. I can't wait to read more about Maggie's troubles and accomplishments!

Welcome to my Blog & About Me!
Welcome to my blog! I am so glad you found me. I just wanted to start off with a little background information. I am an avid reader. I have been reading since I was a child. Growing up in a single parent home, my mom would take my sister and me to the local library. We often participated in their summer reading programs. I always had my chart full of star stickers. I don't recall there ever being a child there with more books read that I did. You bet I was the kid with the greatest imagination when it came to recess. I could relive all of my adventures that I had read about with my friends.
When I had my first child, I took a break from reading for my pleasure. I barely had time to sneak in a shower and brush my locks, let alone pick up an adult novel. Alas, I was stuck with Dr.Seuss and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. It wasn't until my youngest was 3 that I picked up a book for myself and rekindled my flame for reading. No longer was I stuck with the rhyming picture books. I could actually enjoy a little smutt every now and then! Best of all, I could escape from reality and stress and dive into a whole nother world. Who wouldn't want to do that?
Now I read most anything I can get my hands on, minus horror. I have an overactive imagination, and I don't need any help with the paranoia. I enjoy romance of any kind. I really like a HEA. Don't you? I LOVE paranormal. If it shifts, bites, or uses magic, there's a good chance that I will love it. I share my love of reading with 2 of my 3 children. My older two have read nearly every book in the school library. When they have a nice achievement, I reward them with books. Needless to say, I am a big fan of Half Priced Books. The little one; however, doesn't share our passion. I often ponder if the youngest wasn't switch at birth. I mean, who DOESN'T like to read? She has a few books she will pick up, but other than that, she'd rather play outside, play on the computer, or watch TV. (In that order) I suppose she takes after her father. He will only read books about something he's very passionate about. For him, it's motorcycles. For my daughter, it was Dear Dumb Diary books that held her attention. I guess we all have our 'thing.'
My love of reading has led me to many a book clubs, author pages and websites. I have met some of the most wonderful people through our common love of reading. I have made long lasting friends with several of other readers. I have had the privilege of meeting a number of the most amazing authors, some of which I participate in their street teams. I have my own book club over on Facebook. I also have a page on Facebook where I post about all things reading related. Whether it's reviews, free ebooks, upcoming releases, cover reveals, or author related giveaways, you will find it on my page. {I'll post the links to those at the bottom of this post} As I'm sure you can guess, this blog will pertain to the same things, for the most part. I hope you will join me on the journeys into the highlands, where shape shifters abound, and trouble lurks around the corner. Perhaps we will travel back into the time of mail order brides and American Indians? There will definitely be a rock star and a cowboy or two thrown into the mix. Oh the adventures we will go on!
