He lived next door. Alison Eckrich was an expert at being invisible. Having been raised by a mother who saw only flaws, she had learned long ago to watch and never participate. Until him. He was gorgeous from what little she could make out through his bathroom window and he awakened things inside her she had always been told was wrong. But she didn’t care. She was addicted. Gabriel Madoc was no stranger to the cold sting of betrayal. His broken heart had left him hard and bitter and that was how he liked it. Until her. She was a vision in the soft twilight. Everything about her called to him. It didn’t even matter he couldn’t see her face. He wanted her. The rules were simple: No names. No faces. No attachments. They both had what the other needed so long as they never broke the rules. But what will happen when the mystery is unveiled and they both come face to face with the truth and each other? Is what they shared in the cloak of darkness enough to keep them together, or will reality tear them apart?
Airicka Phoenix is a hopeless romantic with a dark imagination and an incurable addiction to chocolate. She is also the author of several novels written for young adult and new adult romance readers who like bad boys, hot kisses and a gritty plot. Airicka prides herself in producing quality material her readers can fall in love with again and again.
When she's not hard at work bleeding words onto paper, Airicka can be found cuddling with her family, reading, watching TV shows, or just finding excuses to avoid doing chores.

In a modern world ruled by territorial Greek gods, the human race has been oppressed, exploited and now, nearly destroyed by the constant infighting of gods. However, a human girl with the power of a goddess is coming of age. Alessandra is the Oracle of Delphi – the last prophesized – and bears the mark of the double omega. Soon after she turns eighteen, Alessandra is told her destiny: to step between the warring gods and the human race and save her world from certain ruin. For the gods, her appearance marks the beginning of the end – their end. They and the obedient human elite who serve them will stop at nothing to preserve their power. Alessandra emerges from the forest where she spent her life hidden from gods and men and immediately plummets into a race against time, gods, and herself to discover who and what she is in a world where everyone she meets has a hidden agenda, and those pulling the strings remain in the shadows. To claim her place leading a rebellion against the gods, she must first prove she is the prophesized Oracle by completing three trials devised by the gods to kill her. One lone girl stands between warring gods and the people she’s destined to protect, but it’s the battle to understand who she is that she must win first. Click here to see it on Gooreads! Review of The Other Side of Quiet by Tara C. Allred

The Other Side of Quiet
Mrs. Childs's creative writing students are expected to keep personal journals for self-expression. But when clues from a murder investigation cause police authorities to confiscate the students’ journals, writing intended to be private is no longer. Words meant to liberate now condemn. And an innocent writing project, meant to empower students, as well as rescue Mrs. Childs from her own personal tragedy, now open deep conflicts within the class.

~  Review  ~
Mrs. Childs is an English teacher. She also teaches a special creative writing class for a few talented students as well. She purchases each of her students a journal to write in. It's a place for them to freely express their thoughts, concerns, and rants. No one was ever supposed to lay eyes on the pages filled with their personal secrets.

One tragic occurrence changes all of that. The journals have been taken up and read by others. The children's privacy has been violated. Trust has been broken. The students no longer have faith in their teacher. This all brings about Mrs. Childs' personal heartache. She just wanted to give her kids a place to express themselves, and it has turned into something no one could have expected. Can she regain their trust and heal her heart in the process, or will everything remain in shambles?

When I first received this book for review, I knew I would like it, but I didn't think it would be one that I just loved. Oh how wrong I was. This book was amazing! There is so much emotion poured unto the pages. My heart aches for Mrs. Childs and the kids. I love a book that makes you think and tugs at the heart strings. This book isn't just about broken trust and the healing process. You get a little insight into the lives of each of the creative writing students. I love how each child's personality is so different. I think the lives of people we know are completely reflected in them. You will relate with at least one of the kids, if not a small piece of each of them. There's so much truth in their stories. I love how it draws on real life people. You have the jock, the beauty queen, the foster child, the quirky one, the scholar, kids raised in broken homes, kids raised by single moms, and even a child with the same sex parents. You won't find so much diversity in other books, but this is so much of modern day. I love that it all has been included!

The writing style was easy to follow. The characters were likeable and relatable. The story has a nice flow with a good arc. The author even goes so far to change the font on the each of the kids' journal title page to reflect their personality. I thought this was a great touch. I read this whole book in one day. Once I started, it just pulled me in, and I couldn't put the book down. I will definitely be looking to read more from this author. Such a great story!

* I received this book in return for an honest review.

Review of Do I Know You by CJ Vermote

****  Review Time  ****
Do I Know You by CJ Vermote

~  Synopsis  ~
Sara lives in Washington State and as a young woman knows the meaning of tragedy. With an inheritance most of us can only dream of, she takes a vacation and finds herself face to face with Rob, a childhood boyfriend.
What appears to be a chance meeting with Rob is anything but that. Though Sara has dreams and intuitions she should be listening to, she ignores them and allows the fast paced romance with Rob, a man she should not trust, lead to marriage. Sara loves her new life until tragedy strikes, leaving her to fight for her life…alone.
~  Review  ~

Sara has had a rough go at it, so she decides that a break from the daily hustle and bustle is in order. She sets off for a beautiful coastal town in the Pacific Northwest for a few weeks of rest and relaxation. While walking on the beach she meets a sweet elderly couple that take her under their wing as the loving grand daughter they never had. In fact, Sue and Jim ended up becoming a special part of her life.
Also while there, she meets the young and incredibly handsome Rob. It turns out that they share a connection for long ago. They were once childhood sweethearts many, many years ago. While they start to reconnect, they fall into a whirlwind romance. Sara is swept off her feet by Rob's charm. Everything he says and does just sets her heart aflutter. In fact, she falls so hard and fast for him that she agrees to marry him after just a few weeks of dating. But can a love that shoots off so fast be ever lasting?
Sara believes she's met her mate in Rob, but not long after their swift nuptials, things start to go awry. Sara is falling ill, and her new husband is acting a bit out of the ordinary. She's having nightmares that lead to suspicions. Maybe she shouldn't have rushed into a hasty marriage with a man she really knows very little about, especially since she's about to inherit millions. Will she figure out what's going on before it's too late, or will her rash decisions cost her very own life?
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the secondary characters. I want Sue and Jim to take me in as their grand daughter as well! I loved her loyal friends Brandon and Linda. Everyone should have friends as adoring and devoted as them. The plot flowed well. You really sat in pins and needles waiting to see what would happen. Rob is the ultimate villain. You fall for him right along with Sara until you really see what he's capable of. The only thing that I think would have made it better was if the ending were a little more fleshed out. I wanted to know more about what happens with the law firm that Rob works for and how everyone handled the double life he was leading. I think that would have made the story perfect. It was just a bit too abrupt for my tastes. However, I did enjoy the epilogue. It's nice to see what has transpired with some of the characters later on down the line. I definitely look forward to reading more stories by CJ Vermote!
